OneThird develops scanning technology that can quickly and objectively determine the quality of fresh fruits and vegetables. The technology essentially looks inside the products and combines this information with camera images and other relevant data. Using artificial intelligence, OneThird predicts, among other things, the shelf life, ripeness, and taste of products such as avocados and strawberries. This enables growers, suppliers, and retailers to better determine where products should be sent and when they should be sold. In this way, OneThird helps reduce food waste in the supply chain.

OneThird is based at Kennispark Twente. Oost NL is one of its shareholders.
