This is often a major challenge for teachers. A plan for a <i>PenMentor</i> prototype is now in place<i>.</i></p><p>This smart technology detects patterns in students’ writing skills, providing insight into trends across the entire class. Based on these analyses, teachers can more easily form groups of students who need the same instructions—enabling tailored support.</p><h1>Issue 2: Multigifted Students</h1><p>Beatrix College and the RATiO Scientific Expertise Center are investigating how smart technology can be used to better meet the educational needs of multi-gifted students. Due to time constraints, it is difficult for teachers to offer sufficient differentiation for these students. As a result, students feel left to their own devices and lack support.</p><p>The solution using smart technology must focus on enriching these students’ curriculum, based on their student profiles and learning objectives. Students need to gain an overview of their learning path and schedule and feel empowered in their own autonomy, without being left completely to their own devices. By implementing this solution, teachers should receive support in offering customized instruction within the standard curriculum.</p><h1>Issue 3: Support Materials for Vocabulary Lessons</h1><p>The Royal Auris Group and the University of Twente are collaborating to develop personalized materials to support vocabulary lessons. Teachers, especially those in special education, often spend a great deal of time on this. A basic prototype has already been developed, and a wish list for further development based on practical experience is ready.</p><p>The solution, Fabula, generates stories at the desired language level—based on selected themes and target words—that align with the student’s lived experience, along with meaningful picture cards and images. This creates personalized learning materials that boost motivation and the joy of reading.
