<p><strong>On Wednesday, November 19, Marianne Pouwer and Michelle Jansen from AI-hub Oost-Nederland visited MEDICA 2025 in Düsseldorf—the world’s largest trade fair for medical technology and digital health. The fair offered an impressive overview of global developments at the intersection of technology and healthcare. One trend stood out this year: the rise of robotics and AI in healthcare.</strong></p><h1>From surgical robots to care assistants&nbsp;</h1><p>Robotics was heavily represented on the exhibition floor. From surgical and rehabilitation robots to mobile assistants and logistics solutions: the applications are wide-ranging and are becoming increasingly intelligent thanks to AI. In addition to the necessary hardware, software is also playing an increasingly important role. &nbsp;</p><h1>The Eastern Netherlands has a lot to offer&nbsp;</h1><p>For the AI Hub Eastern Netherlands, the visit to MEDICA was not only inspiring but also strategic. Our region boasts a powerful combination of technological expertise (high-tech, AI, robotics), an innovative healthcare sector, and a robust SME network. This offers opportunities to do more with robotics in healthcare in the Eastern Netherlands as well—in research, experimentation, and practice.</p><p>We want to expand our network and are therefore eager to bring together parties that have the expertise, the desire, or the need in this field. The international developments at MEDICA have shown how rapidly the field is evolving. Now is the time for our region to get involved and help build the healthcare of the future.</p><h1>Wanted: partners for collaboration&nbsp;</h1><p>We are looking for organizations in the Eastern Netherlands that:</p><ul><li>Software developers who build solutions for robotics or wish to specialize in this field</li><li>Companies working with robotics, both within and outside the healthcare sector</li><li>Healthcare organizations with specific robotics or automation challenges</li><li>Parties with ambitions to develop software for humanoids or advanced robot platforms</li><li>Startups and scale-ups interested in exploring robotics as a new application area</li><li>Research and educational institutions conducting research on robotics, AI, human-machine interaction, or related technologies</li></ul><p>Parties interested in participating in European or national innovation projects in the field of robotics and AI are also welcome.
