AI Programs in the Region

Effective AI applications require more than just technology. You need the right knowledge, partners, talent, and opportunities to develop and test solutions in practice. That is why we work with companies, research institutions, and other regional partners to develop programs focused on concrete real-world challenges. For entrepreneurs, this means they don’t have to figure everything out on their own. Through these programs, they can access knowledge and expertise, collaborate with other companies and researchers, and develop and test new AI applications. We focus on issues relevant to the Eastern Netherlands, with a particular emphasis on industry, food, energy, and healthcare. The programs vary in format and approach. Examples include Learning Communities, joint development initiatives, experiments, and practical projects. The central focus is always on how AI can contribute to businesses and address societal challenges, with an emphasis on the people working with it and the responsible application of the technology.

Learning through real-world AI challenges. That is the guiding principle of the AIC4NL Learning Communities. Companies, nonprofit organizations, and educational institutions collaborate on specific cases, often from the small and medium-sized business sector. In this way, employees and students not only learn about AI but also apply that knowledge directly in practice. The knowledge and experience gained within a Learning Community are translated into learning modules that can also be used by other organizations in the sector. In this way, the Learning Communities help companies apply AI responsibly and practically, while also contributing to the expansion of AI knowledge and skills. In the eastern Netherlands, we collaborate with regional and national partners on Learning Communities that address the challenges faced by entrepreneurs. Examples include the use of AI in the manufacturing industry, healthcare, or other sectors where AI offers opportunities.
Participate as a company
See below for the Learning Communities that companies in the eastern Netherlands can join.
