Could humanoid robots play a valuable role in your manufacturing process in the future? RobotReady helps manufacturing companies explore this in a practical way. Together with research institutions, IT and AI companies, and robot suppliers, you’ll work on concrete applications, technical feasibility, and the business case. This way, you can discover whether AI-driven robotics is a good fit for your company without having to make major investments right away.

RobotReady is a Learning Community currently under development for companies that want to explore where and under what conditions humanoid robots can add value on the production line.

Participating companies can submit their own challenge or use case. Examples include tasks that are repetitive or physically demanding, difficult to automate, or for which it is hard to find staff. Together, we’ll explore what’s technically possible, what an application requires of the organization and its employees, and whether there’s a viable business case.

Discover what robotics can do for your production

Within RobotReady, companies and experts collaborate on three themes.

Business

Where does robotics actually add value? You’ll explore which applications are relevant to your company, the associated costs and benefits, and the conditions under which an investment is feasible. The goal is to make an informed decision and, where relevant, identify a potential path toward further investment or implementation.

Data and Programming

In this track, you’ll get hands-on experience with the technology behind modern robotics. This includes: robot programming and ROS2; simulation; sensor data and data collection; motion capture; and teleoperation. Companies can experiment with their own use cases and leverage the knowledge, datasets, and software made available within the Learning Community.

Implementation and Adoption

Getting a robot to work is one thing. Safely and successfully integrating the technology into a production environment requires more. That’s why we focus on topics such as safe human-robot collaboration, laws and regulations, IT and OT integration, cybersecurity, maintenance, employee engagement, and scaling up.

Which companies might be interested in RobotReady?

RobotReady focuses in particular on SME manufacturing companies that want to explore whether AI-driven robotics or humanoids can contribute to their production process. The program may be of interest if, for example, you are dealing with:

repetitive tasks;

physically demanding work;

processes that are difficult to automate;

roles for which it is difficult to find employees;

a production process where you want to explore whether further robotization is feasible.

You don’t need to have any prior experience with humanoids. Both companies with a specific use case and those still exploring their options are welcome to join. IT and AI companies with expertise in areas such as robot programming, computer vision, data, simulation, or human-robot interaction can also contribute to the Learning Community.

What are the benefits of participating?

Participation gives you access to knowledge and expertise that your company may not always have in-house. You’ll collaborate with other manufacturing companies, research institutions, students, IT and AI specialists, and technology providers. Among other things, you’ll gain:

insight into suitable applications for robotics within your company;

a better understanding of technical feasibility, costs, and benefits;

practical knowledge of robot programming, data, and simulation;

guidance on safe implementation and employee engagement;

access to expertise, technology, and a relevant network;

the opportunity to explore your own business case.

By addressing technical, organizational, and financial questions early on, you also reduce the risk of making a costly investment that fails to deliver sufficient returns in practice.

What do we ask of participating companies?

Participants start with an intake session and join the sessions that address their specific challenges. Ideally, you’ll bring your own case study from a real-world production setting. We ask participants to share their process knowledge, involve employees where necessary, and contribute ideas for experiments and learning activities. You can follow one or more tracks. Companies facing similar challenges can also collaborate.

The exact time commitment and any required financial contribution will be determined once the program and grant conditions are finalized. You are not required to purchase a humanoid robot.

Planning and Funding

RobotReady is scheduled to launch in 2027, subject to approval of the grant application. The end date will be determined as part of the final project planning.

An application for the development of the Learning Community is being prepared within AIC4NL Learning Communities. This application will be submitted on November 20, 2026. Companies can already register during the development phase to express their interest. Participation is possible as long as there is capacity within the program’s flexible framework.
