This is not an exhaustive list, and there may be more calls that could be relevant to you. Nationaal

The AiNed Learning Communities Call 2024, managed by Stichting AiNed, focuses on supporting initiatives that enhance AI knowledge and skills within the Netherlands. This grant encourages collaboration between educational institutions, businesses, and other stakeholders to create learning environments aimed at developing AI talent. Although this call is currently closed, the program will offer opportunities in the future to join one of the already established consortia. Read more

This grant from AiNed, managed by NWO, focuses on the development of ELSA (Ethical, Legal, and Societal Aspects) Labs that explore the ethical, legal, and societal aspects of AI. The goal is to promote responsible and inclusive AI developments through collaboration between researchers, businesses, and societal organizations. The MIT Feasibility Projects grant from the province of Gelderland supports SMEs in researching the technical and economic feasibility of their innovative ideas. The grant covers up to 40% of project costs, with a maximum of €20,000. The MIT R&D Collaborative Projects program provides grants for partnerships between SMEs and other organizations working together on research and development projects. The goal is to stimulate innovation through collaborative R&D efforts. Projects can receive up to €350,000, with the grant covering 35% of the total project costs. Regionaal

The European Regional Development Fund (EFRO) East focuses on strengthening the regional economy in East Netherlands. This program provides financial support for projects that contribute to smart, sustainable, and inclusive growth. Projects can receive grants ranging from tens of thousands to several million euros, depending on the scope and impact of the project. The goal is to promote innovation, enhance the competitiveness of businesses, and support the transition to a low-carbon economy. EFRO East offers various funding opportunities for both companies and knowledge institutions collaborating on innovative projects. Read more.

Industry 4.0 is an Interreg project focused on promoting digital transformation in the manufacturing sector within the German-Dutch border region. The project supports companies in integrating innovative technologies, such as automation and data analysis, into their production processes. By collaborating with knowledge institutions and businesses, Industry 4.0 helps companies become more competitive and accelerates the transition to smarter and more sustainable production. Various funding opportunities are available within this project, such as an exploration of collaboration between a German and Dutch partner (€1,250), a feasibility study (€10,000; 50% subsidized), or an innovation project (€50,000; 50% subsidized). The Growth Accelerator is a program by Oost NL, specifically for entrepreneurs in Gelderland who want to grow their businesses. The program offers tailored support, including advice, coaching, and financing. Entrepreneurs can access grants for various growth-related activities, such as innovation (including AI innovations), market exploration, and expanding their workforce. Additionally, the Growth Accelerator provides access to a broad network of experts and other entrepreneurs to foster collaborations and achieve growth objectives. The province of Overijssel offers a voucher scheme to support industrial entrepreneurs in their digitalization efforts. This voucher can be used for advice, training, or implementing digital solutions that enhance the efficiency and competitiveness of businesses. Companies can receive up to 40% of the costs reimbursed, with a maximum of €10,000 per application. This scheme is designed to help SMEs modernize their business processes and prepare for the future. Conducting an EDIH assessment is a prerequisite for eligibility for this subsidy. Read more

The Boost Smart Industry Voucher supports companies in Gelderland with the digitalization of their production processes. The voucher provides financial support for businesses looking to invest in smart technologies such as automation, robotics, and data analysis. Companies can receive up to 50% of their project costs reimbursed, with a maximum subsidy amount of €10,000 per project. This scheme helps companies become more competitive and future-proof. Applications are submitted through the brokers of RCT Gelderland, who assist you with the application process. Read more

Europese financieringsmogelijkheden

The AiNed XS Europe Call 2024, managed by NWO, provides financial support for small, innovative AI projects that promote international collaboration within Europe. Projects can receive up to €100,000. Read more

Horizon Europe is the main funding program of the European Commission for research and innovation. The program offers extensive grant opportunities for projects that contribute to scientific and technological advancement within the EU. Projects can range from several hundred thousand euros to tens of millions of euros, depending on the nature and scale of the research. Horizon Europe focuses on various themes, including health, climate change, and digital technologies. The program promotes collaboration between European countries and encourages cross-border projects that contribute to economic growth and social impact. Read more

AI REDGIO 5.0 is an EU project focused on the digital transformation towards Industry 5.0 through two open calls. These open calls fund 20 experiments aimed at enhancing AI capabilities within small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and other entities. Each project can receive up to €60,000, with SMEs eligible for up to 60% of their costs covered and non-profit organizations eligible for 100% reimbursement of their costs. The first open call started in December 2023, and the second will begin in October 2024, with each having a submission period of three months. Read more

The VInnovate project, part of the Vanguard Initiative, provides financial support for interregional innovation projects in 2024. The call focuses on projects that contribute to a smarter, more sustainable, and more autonomous industry. Projects must have a minimum cost of €100,000, with a maximum duration of 36 months. Consortia must consist of at least one SME and two organizations from different regions and countries. The funding supports activities at TRL levels 6, 7, and 8. Read more

The EU's I3 program provides grants for innovative projects that contribute to strengthening regional innovation ecosystems. Projects can receive up to €3 million. The I3 open calls focus on various themes, including digital technologies, sustainability, and health. Read more

The HealthChain I3 Project stimulates the digital transformation of healthcare through two open calls. The first call, which started in January 2024, targets leading SMEs, while the second call, starting in March 2024, focuses on follower SMEs. Both calls offer financial support of up to €50,000 per project for the co-creation and piloting of digital health solutions in collaboration with Mirror Regions. This initiative promotes collaboration between IT companies and regional healthcare ecosystems within the EU.
