Next Ten Groundbreaking AI Research Projects Launch from AiNed XS Europa Call

News

The following ten groundbreaking research projects have been approved from the AiNed XS Europa call. A strong AI knowledge and innovation base is crucial for the Netherlands. A key aspect of this is the global connectivity of Dutch researchers, particularly within Europe.

With the XS Europa call, the National Growth Fund AiNed program makes a significant contribution. The AiNed board congratulates the awarded projects and looks forward to their contributions to the AiNed program and AI research in the Netherlands.

The awarded research projects involve collaboration with various international partner organizations, such as the University of Edinburgh, University of Ghent, Google Research Zurich, and the Mario Negri IRCCS research institute. The AiNed XS Europa grants aim to explore promising ideas and innovative, high-risk initiatives in the field of artificial intelligence. The key objective is to enhance the Netherlands' position in AI.

The selected projects focus on diverse areas including cancer research, earthquake localization, AI applications in fiber optic cables, stroke detection, the search for better enzymes, algorithm functionality, AI models, datasets, and the trustworthiness of AI. AI's potential positive impact in these areas is now being investigated.

Information and Call Duration This call is for ideas and initiatives addressing one or more challenges in sections 3 and 4 of the national AI research agenda AIREA-NL and is carried out in collaboration with at least one foreign European partner organization. The proposed research is groundbreaking, and it is not guaranteed that the intended goals will be achieved. What matters is that every outcome, whether positive or negative, advances science. Applications are submitted anonymously, so the evaluation is based purely on the research proposal and the European collaboration partner.
