The AiNed Learning Communities Call 2024 is Open: AiNed Invites Dutch SMEs and Social Organizations to Expand and Sustain AI Knowledge

The AiNed Learning Communities Call 2024 is now open. With this call, AiNed invites Dutch enterprises (SMEs) and social organizations to enhance their AI knowledge and expertise. The approach of a Learning Community is based on case-based learning. A total of €28.4 million has been allocated for this call, with funding being granted in two rounds.

AI has a profound impact on a wide range of sectors and the people working within them. Developments are rapidly advancing, and the market demands continuous new knowledge and well-trained employees and students. The AiNed Learning Communities are strategic, multi-year collaborations that offer a practical approach for businesses (SMEs) and social organizations to enhance their AI knowledge and skills, while also collaborating with AI knowledge carriers in education.

Objective of Learning Communities

The goal of a Learning Community is to create and sustain a high-quality and diverse pool of AI talent among employees and students, capable of leveraging and addressing the opportunities and challenges of AI. A Learning Community acts as a knowledge booster for AI, delivering scalable results and combining practical cases (particularly from SMEs) with knowledge building. This results in increased AI knowledge and skills among employees and students and the development of learning modules that enable scaling.

For Whom

Both businesses and/or social organizations and educational institutions (from vocational to university level) can be part of an AiNed Learning Community. Within a community, we distinguish the following roles: core partners, team leads, and community participants (knowledge receivers and knowledge providers).

Focus Areas

The AiNed Learning Communities call 2024 focuses on four specific application areas: (1) energy and sustainability, (2) health and care, (3) mobility, transport, and logistics, and (4) technical industry.

Broad Mission

The intended impact of the AiNed Learning Communities aligns seamlessly with the broader mission of the National Growth Fund program AiNed to position the Netherlands as a leading player in responsible AI development and application. By investing in research, innovation, and transition to develop AI-driven solutions that enable positive change, we aim to collaboratively build a sustainable and prosperous future with AI.
